“The lush mouthfeel imparted by Semillion along with the structure and balancing acidity from Sauvignon Blanc combine to deliver a wine of great breed and character in the traditional Bordeaux style. Rich green/gold color with aromatics of anise, honeysuckle, iris, dried apricots, and crenshaw melon. The mouthfeel is round and complete with flavors of fresh peach, creamy mango, key lime, tarragon, and wet sand minerality. The finish is firm and bright with crisp pear, poached white nectarines, and tarragon. “Vintage 2013 was, like its predecessor, a dream vintage in the Napa Valley. And our 2013 Platiné Blanc harkens back to our inaugural 2012 Platiné Blanc as a wine of great intensity balanced by the elegance so traditional of the whites of Bordeaux. “This vintage of Platiné Blanc is full and rich with aromatics of floral apple blossom, ripe Meyer lemon, and fresh tarragon. It has a very complex mid-palate flavor profile with a core of stone fruits and Asian apple pear along with creamy tropical fruit. A clean river stone minerality is clear throughout working with layers of oats, fig, and maple to the fluent finish. "There are inviting aromas of cassis, toffee, fresh blackberries, tea leaves, and dusty currants. The middle flavors are lively and crisp with a mix of both red and black fruits. Raspberry, cherry, and boysenberry lead the charge. These combined with complex subtleties of cedar, tarragon, licorice, and chocolate make for a very exciting mouthful. Every year this blend breakdown changes to showcase Mother Natures’ ever changing weather patterns and the unique characteristics this vineyard has to offer. The 2017 vintage is full bodied and rich with complexity. Plum, black cherry pie, sage and sandalwood begin on the nose. Leave this wine in your glass for an hour and come back to aromatics that evolve into a fresh baked cinnamon roll. Flavors of coco, dried cherry, sweet pipe tobacco and rhubarb dance on the palate. “Malbec is one of the world’s most terroir specific wines and we are fortunate that our small block at the west end of the vineyard is ideally suited to bring out the finest characters of this intriguing grape. Rich aromas of blueberry, anise, tarragon, spice, and black cherry abound on the nose followed by an expressive mid-palate displaying layers of cherry, espresso bean, ripe raspberry, and orange spice. “Malbec is one of the world’s most terroir specific wines and we are fortunate that our small block at the west end of the vineyard is ideally suited to bring out the finest characters of this intriguing grape. Our 2012 Malbec displays the seldom found blend of excellent balance and elegance combined with power and grip for a truly extraordinary vinous experience. Earthy aromas are coupled with an intriguing spiced mint and accentuated by complex bouquet of blueberry, anise, tarragon, black cherry and cocoa. The mid-palate follows displaying layers of cherry, espresso bean, ripe raspberry, and a hint of licorice complimenting the rich mouthfeel and supple tannins. . “The 2018 Shadybrook Estate Malbec has a beautifully concentrated crimson hue with soft aromas of lavender, lilac, huckleberry and savory herbs that invite you in. This vintage saw a longer skin contact due to mild temperatures during Summer, leading to a late Fall harvest of high quality fruit. The palate boasts flavors of blueberry, black cherry, molasses and caramelized brown sugar with a bright mid-palate acidity. The well integrated tannins create a robust body with a mouth-watering finish. With less than one acre planted, the Shadybrook Estate Malbec is highly sought after and in limited quantities. Yearly Single Barrel Release Wines
“2018 was host to an idyllic Summer and mild Fall temperatures allowing for the fruit to have a long hang time on the vine and develop deep, rich flavor profiles. The 2018 Shadybrook Estate Petit Verdot was harvested in early November and quickly became a shining star in the cellar from this vintage. Starting in your glass with an opaque ruby-black color, moving into a magenta rim, this wine leads with aromas of dark fruits, such as blueberry and blackberry; mixed with notes of rose petal, black licorice, tea leaf and mint. A touch of stony minerality showcases the cooler climate of Coombsville. The palate is velvety bursting with flavors of raspberry compote, dark black cherry, cocoa powder and maple cream.
